Meet the Man Behind Maiden Voyage
Hey there, I’m Nick — founder of Maiden Voyage.
Before getting into yachting, I worked in recruitment and education, helping people take bold steps toward new careers. That experience taught me how people get hired — and more importantly, how easily they can get it wrong.
When I set my sights on the yachting industry, I had no experience and had never even stepped foot on a superyacht. But with help from my girlfriend at the time, who had six years in the industry, I hacked the system. I learned what mattered, what didn’t, and how to market myself to get noticed. It worked.
Once onboard, I realised how many others were struggling — not because they weren’t capable, but because they were doing the wrong training, spending thousands dock walking in the wrong places, or simply didn’t know how to present themselves. I saw great people getting overlooked again and again.
Then a funny thing happened — parents started reaching out, asking if I could help their kids break into the industry. That’s when the idea for Maiden Voyage clicked. Now I help aspiring yacht crew get their foot in the door — with honest advice, practical support, and a smarter way in.
While I’m the face you’ll see most often, Maiden Voyage isn’t a one-man show. We’ve built a small team of passionate people — along with an industry advisory board — to make sure everything we offer stays relevant, practical, and aligned with what the industry actually needs.
